Synopsis
Three sisters have only one desire: to leave their village and find work in the city. By setting up his story of love and family rivalries in a remote village, surrounded by snowy mountains.
Emin Alper
Emin Alper studied economics before doing a thesis in contemporary history at the University of Bosphorus. A film buff since his adolescence, he has not pursued this field since the funding of Turkish cinema in the 1990s made it difficult to make a career there. From the 2000s, the Turkish Ministry of Culture developed a programme to finance films. Alper directed two short films: Mektup in 2005 and Rifat in 2006. He wrote and directed his first film Behind the Hill in 2012. He is awarded the Best First Film Award of the 2012 Berlinale.
