Director’s bio
Irene Dionisio
As director, she won the Solinas Prize, Scam – Brouillon d’un rêve and the Prix of Jury of Cinema Verité in Iran for her documentary Sponde (2015). Her first feature film Pawn Street (2017) had its premiere at the Venice Film Festival in the Critics’ Week section. The film was nominated for a David di Donatello, the Globi d’Oro for Best Debut and won a Silver Ribbon for Best Script. Her video installations and installations are shown in international museums and institutions, as among the others Palazzo Grassi in Venice, Onu – Geneva and New York, OCAT Shanghai and many others. Idda is her second feature film.

Synopsis
Two childhood friends, now in their thirties, find themselves on a hike up the Mount Etna. Between the slopes and the bowels of Idda the volcano-woman, they are met with the deep meaning of femininity and find themselves, beyond differences and time, strongly united.
